Position Title: Accounting Analyst

Location: Findlay, Ohio

An Automotive Manufacturer is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join their team.

Job Summary:

Responsible for various tasks, the accounting analyst will report to the Accounting Manager and will take an active role in assisting with multiple accounting and analytical responsibilities. Working closely with the Accounting Manager and Accounting Team, this role will have accountability with the customer-facing side of the business, cash reconciliations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting and analytics. Heavy emphasis on process improvements and value-added strategies and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Cash Management:

  • Assist with specific cash management reporting.
  • Reconciling cash in current ERP.
  • Cash Reconciliation
  • Facilitate GSE Wire Transfers Payments.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Specialize in specific Cognos reporting and analysis.
  • Managing parent company reporting and compliance.
  • Variable/Fixed reporting and analysis.
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions including end-of-the-month reconciliations.

Customer Facing-Revenue Cycle:

  • Reconciles customer accounts including invoice processing, distribution, and statement delivery.
  • Process Improvement
  • Assist and manage the implementation of special projects and value-added strategies and initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Recommend solutions to problems and implement effective corrective and preventative action.

Risk Management:

  • Assist in Annual insurance renewals both medical and commercial.
  • Participate in the 401K committee.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Promote work with cross-functional teams and across multiple departments.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain professional integrity, and strict confidentiality to any company information that is not common knowledge to all employees or third parties.
  • Must be able to take data and interpret it through critical thinking and be able to present it meaningfully to others.
  • Adhere to all GSW rules of conduct, policies, procedures, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with GSW safety guidelines and policies.
  • Comply with pre-employment, post-accident, random, and reasonable suspicion drug screen requirements.
  • Comply with pre-employment, accommodation, and fit-for-duty medical exam requirements.
  • Follow Company and department scheduling, attendance, overtime, and call-off requirements.
  • Ability to travel for internal, customer, and supplier needs, including internationally (refer to section 6.c.).
  • Comply with established quality and environmental management system processes.
  • Comply with GSW 5-S requirements and initiatives.
  • Recommend solutions to problems and implement effective corrective and preventative action.
  • Support continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Assist with the annual physical inventory process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related disciplines.
  • Two years of experience in accounting, or related financial planning, and financial management assignments preferred.
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical and strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with ERP system.
  • High-level technology skills using Financial Planning and Analysis software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, advanced level in Excel applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Cross-training to support other accounting functions and roles.
