Sales location will be Austin TX

Job Summary: The Outside Sales Representative will identify, introduce, develop, and cultivate business relationships with companies and individuals within their designated territory requiring emergency or planned outage temporary rental solutions for power generation, compressed air, or temperature control. The Outside Sales Representative’s goal is to generate and maximize revenue for the branch and the company.


Essential Functions:

Develop, plan, and organize sales strategies to achieve desired results/goals

Maintain and exceed quotas by renting solutions consistently

Identify customer’s needs and react appropriately while understanding the market conditions and local competitors' pricing

Penetrate customers at the strategic level to diversify the customer base to include industrial, traditional, and nontraditional accounts

Team with all Holt sales teams and divisions within the local market to identify and develop target accounts

Responsible for personal productivity, using all company tools and systems to maximize revenue and continually accelerate growth

Support and participate in team sales initiatives by sharing information and providing support in account sales and service activities

Collaborate with specialty division representatives to promote cross-selling to accounts wherever possible


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction equipment and the rental industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with the ability to build long-term business relationships
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline-oriented
  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of one to three years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Three to five years of experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license


Supervisory Responsibilities:
None


Travel:
Extensive driving is required; overnight travel is required.


Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • This role frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines


Work Environment:

  • This job is generally performed in a retail and office environment; exposure to computer screens; exposure to noise, dust, grease, fumes, gases, heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions
  • Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
