General Information:

Job title: Diet Clerk

Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday-Friday, 6:30am - 3:30pm

Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

Holiday rotation: Paid Time Off for Holidays

Position Summary:

The Diet Clerk position supports the Dietary Department in Operation of the Blue Print Menu Management System and Managing the Meditech program.

Position Responsibilities:

• Greet residents, collect daily menus and assist patients with meal selection as needed.
• Tallies quantities of specific foods, from selective menu items.
• Communicates with cooks and kitchen staff on new admissions and discharges.
• Provides excellent customer service when answering department phone calls and handling customer complaints.
• Maintains patient records: Cardex, change in status, room changes and special dietary requests.
• Works closely with clinical dietitian and cooks on special dietary needs and nutritional supplements.
• May deliver late trays as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Understanding of proper sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge or ability to learn basic therapeutic diets.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Computer skills.
