Outside Sales Representative position to support our West Texas region (Springtown/Bridgeport area).

What Does an Outside Sales Representative Do?

  • Customer Relationship Building: Develop and nurture new partnerships and maintain existing relationships with customers and contractors
  • Sales Growth: Work to increase sales and gross profit, meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date technical and product knowledge to efficiently assist customers
  • Prospect Qualification: Qualify prospects within the assigned sales area, building a consistent pipeline of potential clients
  • Customer Service: Maintain a consistently pleasant, customer service-oriented image when interacting with customers
  • Product Assistance: Partner with customers to help them select the right products and communicate information about new trends, product releases, promotions, and purchase delivery dates
  • Blueprint Review: Read blueprints and provide estimates on material needs based on customer or contractor blueprints
  • Bids and Estimates: Prepare bids and material estimates based on customer or contractor requirements
  • Accounts Receivable: Assist with accounts receivable collections as needed
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with potential and existing customers to close sales deals
  • Order Processing: Prepare and input orders accurately and efficiently
  • Additional Duties: Be prepared to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as required


What Does It Take to Be Successful as an Outside Sales Representative?


  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college in business preferred
  • 3+ years sales experience in the lumber/hardware or relatable industry
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to various job sites and to meet with customers and contractors within the West TX region and potentially farther as required for business needs
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Experience in special order doors, windows, and building materials
  • Prior experience in calculating and estimating take-offs and estimates required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Results-oriented with the ability to serve customers with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
