Certified Medical Assistant needed for busy Internal Medicine and Weight Loss Practice


Well regarded Internal Medicine and Weight Loss Practice is searching for a dependable, knowledgeable, experienced Medical Assistant. This office has 3 locations that include Vienna, Ashburn & Woodbridge, VA. Applicant MUST be able to travel to all locations if needed. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of patient empathy, strong communication, and interpersonal skills. This position does require someone who is a top-notch team player, and extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task at a fairly fast pace.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Checking patients in and out
  • preparation of exam rooms (including stocking and cleaning)
  • Preparing patient and updating medical record prior to Medical Provider
  • Vitals & recording of chief complaint, verification of current medications, pharmacy information, allergies, etc.
  • Recording medical record to properly meeting all Quality Measures
  • Administration of vaccines
  • EKG
  • Phlebotomy
  • Wound care and education
  • Handling patient callbacks, refill requests and referrals (incoming and outgoing)
  • Set up and preparation of patients for all telehealth visits
  • Updating patient demographic information
  • Assist with scheduling and telephone calls as needed
  • Inventory
  • Maintaining OSHA requirements
  • Other Duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Completion/Certificate of Medical Assistant program
  • Phlebotomy Certificate
  • CPR certified
  • Previous EMR/EHR experience
