Roles and responsibilities:
This task involves developing and delivering training and videos related to how industry uses
NCEI data and information and how others, with less experience, can also begin using our
data. This is expected to happen through static visual, audio - podcast, and video. It is expected
these capabilities will complement sample code and data documentation that will be available for users.

The Multimedia Specialist role involves creating engaging and impactful multimedia content to enhance the official's communication efforts.

Multimedia Content Development:
  • Video Production: Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit high-quality videos that align with the official's communication strategy.

Photography and Image Editing:
  • Photography Support: Capture and edit photographs to create a visually cohesive narrative that complements communication initiatives.
  • Image Enhancement: Utilize advanced editing techniques to enhance visual appeal and consistency across multimedia content.
Audio Production:
  • Podcast Production: Develop and produce podcasts, coordinating scriptwriting, recording, and post-production activities.
  • Voiceovers: Record and edit professional voiceovers for various multimedia projects.
Creative Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with Communication Teams: Work closely with communication professionals to align multimedia content with overarching communication goals.
  • Feedback Integration: Integrate feedback and direction from communication teams to continuously refine and improve multimedia strategies.
Technology Proficiency:
  • Software Utilization: Demonstrate proficiency in multimedia software tools for video editing, graphic design, animation, and audio production.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in multimedia production, integrating innovative approaches.
Compliance and Ethics:
  • Security and Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information and multimedia content with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with security protocols.
  • Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical guidelines and industry standards in all aspects of multimedia production.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Multimedia Reports: Provide regular reports on multimedia activities, including project progress, resource utilization, and any notable achievements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of multimedia projects, ensuring a comprehensive record of all visual and audio assets produced.
The Multimedia Specialist plays a pivotal role in creating dynamic and compelling multimedia content, contributing significantly to the success of communication initiatives led by the senior government official.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • BA / BS degree
  • Provide video and audio recording and production capabilities to develop and deliver; podcasts, videos, and vignettes on user experience and value of NCEI information.
  • Working Knowledge Microsoft Office Tools
  • 3+ years of working experience.
  • Develop online and video training targeting priority sectors for how to locate NCEI data and information sources and how to use that data and information, and for best practices to use NCEI information in sectoral decision-making contexts.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be clearable through the Federal Civilian security clearance process.
