Join our Dynamic Team as a Senior Services Outreach Specialist!

As the Senior Services Outreach Specialist at Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP) you will play a crucial role in implementing and expanding our Area Agency on Aging's National Family Caregiver Support Programs. You will coordinate and administer programs such as the Caregiver Support Group, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group, and Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshops. Your dedication and advocacy will help provide valuable support to family caregivers, and you may even get involved in fundraising and community outreach activities.

In addition to your caregiver support responsibilities, you will also serve as our Outreach Specialist, working under the guidelines of the Medicare Improvements for Patient and Provider Act. You will coordinate our Senior Medicare Patrol volunteer program, recruit volunteers, and provide them with training and assignments. You will be responsible for educating Medicare beneficiaries and their families about fraud prevention, as well as assisting local organizations in becoming host agencies for the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Providers Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer National Family Caregiver Support Programs, including support groups and workshops.
  • Collect and report data for federal, state, and internal reports.
  • Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness and advocate for family caregivers.
  • Coordinate the Senior Medicare Patrol volunteer program and train volunteers.
  • Educate Medicare beneficiaries and their families about fraud prevention.
  • Assist local organizations in becoming host agencies for Medicare programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to program guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clients, co-workers, and other agencies in a professional and cooperative manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of employment experience in social work, nursing, public health, geriatrics, administration, or community organization.
  • Previous experience in public relations and volunteerism is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and common office software.
  • Valid Idaho driver's license, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.

Note: Training modules for the Senior Medicare Patrol and the Medicare Improvement for Patients and Provider Act programs must be completed within 90 days of employment.

Compensation:

  • Wage, $16.00 to $17.20, depending on experience.
