Gaming Machine Attendant


SUPERVISOR: Gaming Machines Shift Supervisor EXEMPT (Y/N): NO

CLASSIFICATION: Key Employee


SUMMARY:

Under general direction from the Gaming Machine Shift Supervisor, promotes a positive customer experience by providing accurate change for patrons; addressing questions or concerns about how Class II Gaming machines are played and the types of payouts; and resolving tilts and jams in a prompt and courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner offering assistance, instruction, and advice on various types of Class II Gaming machines.
  • Provides accurate change to patrons as requested.
  • Observes all patron activity within assigned area; responds to questions from Casino Guests on machine functions and payouts.
  • Assists guests when machines are in need of repairs by contacting and confirming assistance of a Gaming Machine Technician; resolves tilts and jams as requested.
  • Safeguards company assets by keeping track of keys, funds and security access cards.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Responds to customer's requests in a prompt and professional manner; contacts supervisor as needed.
  • Completes jackpot/cancel credit payouts and all relevant paperwork accurately and within established time lines.
  • Completes jackpot payouts and ticket fills within established time lines and completes documentation as required.
  • Assists in cleaning and maintenance of the Gaming Machine areas and assists in maintaining inventory of supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies and procedures, in all areas at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six (6) months customer service and money handling experience.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to represent the Casino in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • No felony or theft convictions.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
  • Tribal preference.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is generally performed in a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a moderate noise level.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.
  • Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
