Your day as a Steel Erection Project Manager

Join Kinsley Steel, Inc. as a Steel Erection Project Manager in York, PA, where you will oversee and manage structural steel and miscellaneous erection projects. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure project success, from participating in steel detailing to creating comprehensive schedules. You will be responsible for reviewing specifications, preparing critical documents, and maintaining detailed reports to track progress as well as preparing and negotiating change orders, deducts, and proposals with clients.

Must be able to read specifications and blue prints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials, creating schedules that include preconstruction planning, weekly progress,, deliveries, Turnovers , and closeout procedures, prepare, coordinate, review, and execute submittals, contract reviews, subcontracts, Purchase Orders (PO), Professional Service Agreements (PSA), and other critical documents. Prepare monthly Work in Progress reports (WIPs), Field Quality Control Reporting and Survey coordination and issue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policies.

Effective communication and strong client relationships will be key in this role, as you coordinate with subcontractors, fabricators, and other project stakeholders. To excel as a Steel Erection Project Manager at Kinsley Steel, Inc. in York, PA, you should possess a strong skill set to effectively oversee projects. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Structural Steel Erection and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Prior Project Management experience in steel fabrication/erection is highly desirable.

Knowledge of AISC and PCI standards, as well as familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, is preferred. A valid US driver's license is required, and expertise in tools like transit, welders, and rigging equipment is a definite advantage. Understanding mathematics and possessing basic field tools for measurements are essential for success in this role. Knowledge of safety quality and cost control standards and procedures, knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in steel construction. Candidates with knowledge of Tekla and Fabtrol software programs will have a competitive edge in this dynamic position.
