Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), with special interest in Life Style Medicine, to deliver excellent patient care in a primary care setting in Florida. The NP/PA will provide preventive and sick care in an office setting, maintain accurate clinical records in our EHR system.
Requirements include but are not limited to;
  • Work under physician's supervision in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Performs screenings, physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
  • Discusses case with physician, if needed, to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
  • Report as needed to MD any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care.
  • Complete required documentation and assigned tasks on time (jellybeans, EHR processes, telephone encounters, locking charts, etc.).
  • Review reports (labs, x-rays, EKG's, etc.), sign-off, and follow up per guidelines.
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of coding and billing requirements. Provide accurate coding information in EHR that corresponds to care given and documented progress notes.
  • Provide efficient care to minimize patient wait time and achieve practice productivity goals.
  • Adhere to current disease management protocols, and key clinical pathways, and use them to improve clinical performance.
  • Complete all duties, responsibilities, and competencies in a manner that is appropriate to the age groups to whom care/services are being provided.
  • Maximize patient satisfaction by providing evidence-based patient education, shared decision making and excellent bedside manner.
  • Monitors and maintains progress of patients and reports progress to supervising physician.
  • Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while performing duties is essential.
  • Experience in a primary care or comparable care setting preferred Experience documenting clinical data in an electronic health record system (EHR).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
  • Responsible, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational ability, problem-solving skills, and written and oral communication skills, a high degree of accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems as well as their most effective treatments.
  • Skilled in addressing patient care needs in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic manner.
  • Skilled in working in a collaborative, team-based practice.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional and courteous environment.
  • Adept at managing reasonable patient expectations and complaints.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Internet, electronic health records and online resources).
  • Logical, methodical approach to work and capable of meticulous record-keeping.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
Other requirements:
  • Commitment and ability to keep up to date with scientific and technological developments/literature.
  • Valid Florida drivers license.
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Knowledge of disease prevention and treatment
  • Demonstrated ability to serve diverse populations.
  • Complete all required training courses on time and maintain proper certification.
  • Team oriented and a positive attitude
  • Maintain proper and professional appearance at all times.
  • Strong interest in Life Style Medicine.
Experience:
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
Certification/Licensure:
  • Board certified or board eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to practice in the state of Florida.
  • Active Florida license required
  • DEA license required
  • BLS certification required
