  1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:

1.1 The Scheduler or designate is to coordinate production activities throughout the plant to maintain customer requirements at HaPlasman.


  1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • This position Directly reports to: Materials Manager

Scheduling/Logistics Supervisor


  1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:


  • Cycle count finished good program and finished goods reconciliation.
  • Product launch through end of service planning.
  • Receiving customer releases through EDI and/or e-mail.
  • Liaison and customer contact for material related issues.
  • Analyzing these releases to create an effective production schedule.
  • Communicating production schedules to Purchasing, Maintenance and Plant Supervisors.
  • Determining and maintaining finished goods inventory levels.
  • Communication daily releases to Shipping Personnel to ensure orders are prepared for shipment.
  • Confers with the Materials Manager to determine status of assigned projects.
  • With direction from Scheduling & Logistics Supervisor will expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Provides Shipping Coordinators with appropriate information to make timely and accurate shipments to customers.
  • Responsible to prepare and administer 5-day assembly schedule.
  • Responsible to prepare and administer 16-week production schedule and labor planning accordingly.
  • Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
  • Always promote an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that sufficient resources are available for each department including training, safety requirements, personnel, work instructions, procedures, and related tools.
  • Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction.
  • Directs supervisors in maintaining positive employee relations and safe work environment.
  • Ensure that all employees receive proper training and understand all job tasks.



  1. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Scheduler is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-003 Worker/Supplied Labour Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Worker Job Descriptions).

  1. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:


  • Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a college level program.

  1. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:


  • Must have at least 3-5 years' experience in a related field and those with experience in Scheduling will be given preference.

  1. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum training:


7.1 Country Specific Hazardous Communications (WHMIS/MSDS, HAZCOM)

7.2 Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness

  • New Employee Orientation (when required)

  1. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

8.1 Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e., Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities.

8.2 Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations, and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant.

8.3 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.

8.4 Possess sound financial and business insights.

8.5 Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.

8.6 Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions.

8.7 Access to reliable transportation.

8.8 Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards.

8.9 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
