Machine Operator – St. Joseph, Missouri

About You
The person we are looking for is a team member that can operate machinery and identify and repair simple machine mechanical problems.

Position Snapshot
A Machine Operator is commonly expected to have mechanical and mathematical skills. To be successful in this role you will:
  • Practices safe work habits as an individual and with co-workers.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Adheres to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Knows safety equipment and is aware of machine safety procedures.
  • Knows and understands basic mechanical processes and equipment function principles.
  • Conducts equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
  • Assists in the repair and maintenance of machines and facilities as required.
  • Documents production information on tally sheets and makes basic production entries into computer.
  • Must understand basic mathematical principles and have knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, weights, and counts.
  • Assumes duties of other operators as required and assists in other areas of the facility as needed.

Requirements and Education:

High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions. Ability to perform simple arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
