Media Team Member

Brief Description: Pali Adventures and Pali Institute rely heavily on several different digital mediums for marketing purposes. Pali, located in Running Springs California within the San Bernardino National Forest, is looking for talented camera operators to help us produce the high quality content our programs demand. This is an on-site only position with no remote- work option available.

Our media team members serve as videographers, photographers and editors. They are responsible for documenting a camper's experience by creating approximately 3-5 weekly and/ or bi-weekly videos in addition to capturing photos of the camper's experience. This requires Team Members to visit various activity sites when they are in operation and capture content of campers enjoying their activities and the camp experience. The content gathered is edited into one cohesive session video or school videos prior to the camper's departure.
These duties occur all throughout our site and through varied weather conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in both photography and video capture.
  • Editing photo and video to a high technical standard.
  • Exhibit characteristics of: Responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older.
  • Desire and ability to work with children.

Required Competencies

  • Adobe Lightroom
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Photo and Video Capture Experience Photo and Video Editing Experience Sony Camera Operation (Preferred) Davinci Resolve Studio (required) Fusion Studio (Preferred)
  • Final Cut Pro X Experience (Optional)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Media team members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency. Any staff member with a disability that may affect the media team member's ability to physically perform these requirements should immediately inform the Human Resources Department to determine possible reasonable accommodations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Report directly to the Media Director.
  • Meeting or exceeding required competencies listed above, Adobe Premier is not acceptable as only NLE experience.
  • Film and photograph campers as they participate in their classes, specialties and various other assigned activities.
  • Practice clean communication throughout all assigned duties.
  • Adhere to camp uniform policy at all times while on shift.
  • Staff members will not give campers their real names before, during or after their employment contract ends.
  • Staff members will not contact campers via social media or use any other form of communication to do so during or after their employment contract ends.
  • Camp staff must under no circumstance be under the influence of or in possession of any drugs, alcohol or tobacco products.
  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
  • Complaints and concerns go UP the chain of command.
  • Disparaging remarks about others are not permitted.
  • Camp staff will not use objectionable language.
  • The staff member will always participate in their assigned duties with professionalism and enthusiasm during morning activities, afternoon activities, evening activities and general camp life.
  • Collaborate with other Team Members to ensure that all required content is gathered each week.
  • Edit all content to produce a high-energy reel, highlighting all of the key moments from the camper's week at camp.
  • Work as a member of a team.
  • Adhere to a tight schedule meeting all deadlines.
  • Work efficiently with the Davinci Resolve Studio and Adobe Lightroom
  • Upload video and photos to the relevant Pali servers.
  • Attend work for any and all assigned duties even during inclement weather which may require the purchase and installation of tire chains on your vehicle in compliance with CalTrans and DOT Guidelines.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned by the Director of Media.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$20 an hour.
Full-time, year-round, schedule can vary and include evenings and weekends. Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave
