DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, your responsibilities include assessing and facilitating the psychological component of the rehabilitation and social development of court committed adjudicated delinquent residents. You also provide consultation to supervisory and counseling staff and serve as a key member of the clinical team in accordance with the Department of Human Services, Office of Children Youth and Families, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services, and agency policies. You must demonstrate a high degree of skill and knowledge in the field of counseling and psychotherapy. This position is responsible for providing services in one or more programs at North Central Secure Treatment Unit.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work days are Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Work hours are as follows:
    • 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, four (4) days per week
    • 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, one (1) day per week
    • May change based on operation needs
  • Travel and overtime as needed

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
    • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three (3) months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Legal Requirements:
    • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
    • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
      • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
