Summary
The Manager and Leadership Development Director will design, implement, and manage Workiva's philosophy and strategy for management and leadership development. Reporting to the Vice President of Talent and Organizational Development, this high-profile role will work directly with front-line managers and senior leaders to develop management and leadership capability, deliver a best-in-class leadership development program, coach and consult with business leaders on leadership challenges, and leverage data and insights to design learning opportunities at scale.
This role will drive change management strategies, champion transformational initiatives, and bring innovative approaches to management and leadership development at Workiva. This role requires an individual who can build and execute integrated, large-scale manager and leadership development strategies and solutions, and develop organizational capability to accelerate our growth as a company.
The Manager and Leadership Development Director will partner closely with business leaders, People Business Partners (PBPs), People & Culture Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) to create and implement a practical framework for developing managers and leaders now and for the future.
What You'll Do:
Guide, motivate, and hire a team to help develop, manage, deliver, support, and scale our global manager and leadership development programming.
Diagnose leadership gaps and business opportunities to design a development framework, curriculum, programs, and solutions to accelerate manager and leadership readiness, capability, and performance.
Create and drive the assessment approach for enterprise strategy and coaching practices
Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement a manager and leadership development strategy that supports the organization's strategic objectives and integrates DEIB principles throughout the strategy and execution process.
Ensure leadership initiatives are effectively communicated and implemented
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship while fostering a high-performance culture
Design and facilitate online and in-person leadership training sessions and learning dialogs that create "a-ha" moments and foster deeper insight and growth
Co-design interventions for leaders to deliver in their current jobs and grow into future roles of increasing responsibility
Utilize learning management systems (Workramp) and learning experience platforms (Degreed) to create learning modules, certifications, and individualized learning paths
Deliver innovative, high-impact solutions that incorporate the latest learning trends including gamification, badges, and immersive learning
Leverage internal expertise, vendors, and consultants to develop, deliver, and maintain best-in-class leadership development experiences
Effectively manage budgets, vendor relationships, and program logistics
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in Leadership Development Program design and delivery, Executive Coaching, Management Consulting, or other related professional development fields.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience preferred, including supervisor experience of managers
Master's degree preferred
ICF/Coaching, DiSC, or other training certifications strongly preferred
Extensive knowledge of Human Resources, learning and development theory and practices, management and leadership development methodology, performance and skill assessment, consulting, manager and executive coaching, instructional design, program management, and vendor management.
Drives collaboration across all levels with the ability to bring together stakeholders that can create solutions
Ability to build trust and credibility with key business partners and all levels of employees across the company, including executive management
Working Conditions
15-25 % travel required (travel will fluctuate as business needs evolve)
Reliable internet access for any period working remotely, not in a Workiva office. #LI-REMOTE
How You'll Be Rewarded
Salary range in the US: $147,000.00 - $250,000.00A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
