Transportation Engineer

PRIME AE Group, Inc. (), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 20 office locations and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast regions, are seeking Transportation Engineer reporting to our Jacksonville, Florida office, but may work remotely out of Orlando or Tampa.

Position Overview:

The primary function of this role will be to take part in creating and evolving infrastructure designs from concept to the final construction document phase. Project types include DOT ITS/TSMO Design, Highway Design and City / County Roadway and Intersection projects. May workshare within the Transportation Group assisting other states or regions in transportation initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques to develop creative, innovative solutions. Performs a variety of complicated tasks and critical thinking within a team environment.
• Be proficient in systems and software including MicroStation, Open Roads and AutoCAD.
• Gain experience in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures for DOT agencies.
• Take part in reviewing, understanding, and applying local, state, and federal codes and standards related to the design of DOT construction projects.
• Learn and apply market specific guidelines, the practices, and policies of the associated Local, State and Federal transportation standards.
• Assist in a Deputy Project Management role in managing various types of infrastructure projects utilized within the transportation and heavy civil industries within the company.
• Perform field studies to evaluate field conditions, sight distance, roadway safety, and traffic conditions.
• Position may work remotely pending final approval from management.

Minimum Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
• PE preferred (EI or EI candidate in training alternately acceptable)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Experience with TSMO/ITS design including Specifications Development
