Parker Lord is looking for a skilled assembler in the Robison Road facility in Erie, PA within the Wire Mesh and Fluid Cell department. This role encompasses all aspects of fluid and wire mesh component manufacturing. While assembling you will need fine motor skills and exceptional attention to detail to inspect, prepare and install small subcomponents in a precise manner into intricate, finished, upper-level assemblies. As part of this role, you will be mixing silicone fluids, fluid filling components, machining, painting, finishing, part marking, and testing completed upper-level units. You will determine conformance to product specifications through the utilization of prescribed tests and detailed comparisons to print specifications. This position requires the ability to work from detailed drawings, specifications and procedures and proactively participates in the Parker Lean System. This position falls within the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.

Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

  • Work from complex drawings, routers, inspection procedures, manufacturing instructions, etc., and use precision measuring or test instruments to inspect and/or test completed units.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect returned material in accordance with the product drawings, inspection procedures and/or verbal instructions.
  • Work closely with quality engineers, product engineers, supervisor and other support personnel.
  • Set up and operate a variety of mechanical equipment to perform assembly and other related operations.
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections for defects before, during and/or after testing. Perform final inspections for conformity to specifications.
  • Utilize various power equipment such as hydraulic and drill presses for assembly purposes.
  • Identify and participate in resolving manufacturing difficulties and customer service/quality/productivity problems.
  • Perform other duties of the position as required while participating in continuous improvement efforts.

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to take and pass Certified Operators' examination
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years manufacturing experience
