Cable Technician

AITC is seeking a Cable Technician with a high level of experience with both OSP and ISP projects specializing in and terminating fiber optic cables to expand telecommunications networks into new areas or to replace existing lines. This includes troubleshooting and performing maintenance to resolve signal problems. We are also looking for someone with

* Performs cable installation, construction, maintenance, and repair works.

* Possesses knowledge in all types of splicing activity, cable and safety test equipment and use of all types of cable construction equipment.

* Locates and repairs cables faults to maintain existing cable network without causing signal failure interruptions.

* Validates and tests end-to-end service provisioning for the cable network.

* Confirms accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs, and routers.

* Reviews site surveys, condition discrepancy reports, design drawings, technical manuals for cable installation feasibility.

* Understands construction prints and splice schematics.

* Reports to a Team Lead or Task Manager.

* Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

* Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* 4-6 years practical field experience performing aforementioned responsibilities/duties

* High School Diploma

* ITIL Foundations within 6 months

* SECRET Clearance

* Must be a US citizen

* Able to work Overtime as required

* Must be available to travel as required

* One of the following:

o CCNA-Security

o CYSA+

o GICSP

o GSEC

o Security+ CE

o CND

o SSCP

* Knowledgeable in Army Network Enterprise Center operations

* May require CDL driver's license and heavy equipment operator certs.

* BISCI, OEM, Certified Fiber Optic Technician (FOA) (CFOT) certification or similar industry certifications in equipment used to perform job (e.g., tester, splicer, and cabling type(s). TIA 102; EIA 310D; TIA 603C; Bonding Grounding JSTD 607A.

* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written)

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work reliably under minimal supervision.

* Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction.

* Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach.

* Manages pole climbing, working at heights, handling ladders, and pushing, pulling, and bending equipment.

* Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.

* Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.

* Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.

* Must have visual acuity.

* Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds.
