**Description**

Safely move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.

* Reads customer order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed

* Loads and unloads trucks

* Sorts and places items on racks according to predetermined sequence

* Operates fork lift truck or hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to warehouse storage or work area

* Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to shipping department

* Stacks lumber in yard or in shed

* Drives diesel or gasoline powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices such as forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials

* Performs other duties as required

Requirements

**Requirements**

Required Skills and Abilities:

Seeks to learn products and the applications

Knows product locations in yard and warehouse

Ability to read a measuring tape

Keeps forklift clean

Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work

**Safety Requirements:**

Wears high visibility, safety PPE, and proper uniform

Performs daily lift inspections

Always looks behind/honks horn when backing/rounding blind corners

Safely operates equipment

Promptly report all accidents/incidents and damaged products

Perform daily safety audit of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment

Keep aisles and exits clear

Participates on safety committee if needed
