Overview


Kamatics, the largest division of the Kaman Corporation, is looking for a Manufacturing Prototype Developer to join our Test & Development team, responsible for the assembling of test rig setups for customers test programs within productivity and quality standards. Candidates should have a wide range of advanced knowledge with test controls and data analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Responsibilities:

  1. Machining of test bearings and test rig fixtures using CNC machines, manual lathes and manual milling equipment to support tests in the Test & Development Lab
  2. Machining of prototype bearings in support of R&D and New Product Development activities.
  3. Assembles, fabricates, operates and monitors test rigs to ensure accurate test data and correct operation of rigs; records data.
  4. Procures rig specific hardware necessary for the assembly of the test rig.
  5. Performs all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follows work procedures and test lab scheduling procedures.
  6. Reads and understands test plans and requirements for testing.
  7. Provides feedback to internal customers relative to determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  8. Maintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
  9. Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes, procedures, accuracy and efficiency of tests. Contributes to 5 S programs in work area.
  10. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned. Accomplishes related results as needed.

Qualifications


Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Experience:

3+ years in a manufacturing or assembly field. Aerospace industry environment is preferred. Previous experience with test control and data acquisition software is preferred.
