**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for increasing retail availability, awareness, recommendation, and consumption of Primal Pet Foods products in an assigned territory. This includes prospecting and generating new commercial business at the retailer level.

This role will service GA, NC, SC, AL, MS - preferably based in the greater Atlanta area

**Responsibilities and Duties**

* Develop a strong network of relationships with retailers, distributor personnel, and influencers so you can maximize your impact and remain plugged into everything that's happening in your market.

* Open new retail accounts.

* Expand assortment of Primal Pet Foods available at existing accounts.

* Train existing and new retail accounts on the features and benefits of Primal Pet Foods products as well as how to recommend them to consumers. Identify and train at least one retail associate per location to be an in-store expert on the brand.

* Leverage distributor resources including sales personnel to increase your influence in the market and execute effective placement of trial driving promotions.

* Help ensure sufficient distributor inventory levels are in place and confirm retailer satisfaction with the distribution network.

* Identify the best retailer and community events to attend and/or support with the demo team.

* Manage company tools and resources effectively to deliver maximum results.

* Provide reports/ feedback on behalf of our customers from the store level.

* Receives and responds to internal and external requests quickly and professionally.

* Other duties as assigned

**Special Requirements**

Ability to travel up to 50% of the schedule. Ability to travel up to 25% of schedule by air.

Availability to work nontraditional hours including some Sundays and evenings based on operational need.

**Qualifications and Skills**

* High School Diploma required.

* 1-2 years previous sales experience in the Pet or Natural Foods industries preferred.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows environment, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web-enabled applications.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
