Information Technology (IT) is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate to effectively deliver and operate high-quality technology solutions.  The Technology Capabilities Architecture (TCA) Team is part of centralized Enterprise Strategy & Architecture (ES&A) group within IT.  Our mission to ensure PG&E meets its strategic objectives and maximize the effectiveness of the business by standardizing, optimizing, and harmonizing the technology portfolio.

 

Position Summary

Reporting to the TCA Senior Manager, the successful candidate in the role will be accountable for collaboratively defining and driving the target state architecture for the Digital Workplace (User Technology) for the company.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $151,000

Bay Area Maximum: $257,000

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze technology trends and spur innovation within the Digital Workplace Domain.
  • Develop and maintain architectural artifacts including target architectures, short and long-term implementation roadmaps, architecture patterns, reference architectures, standards, patterns, and architecture decision frameworks in partnership with user technology stakeholders.
  • Establish and drive enterprise strategies and roadmaps that enable a portfolio to support current and future business and technology capabilities.
  • Mentor and guide coworkers in the area of user technologies.
  • Collaborate with User Technology Operations Teams. 
  • Standardize and optimize technology stack and usage across the enterprise through various architecture governance processes.
  • Provide expert level consulting in enterprise user technologies for IT and across the functional areas of the business. 
  • Lead the Community of Practice (CoP) for the Digital Workplace Domain. 
  • Lead efforts for Software Review Board process modernization.

 

Qualifications

Minimum: 

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of cumulative experience as an Enterprise and/or Solution Architect


Desired: 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Experience planning and strategizing for enterprises in the Digital Workplace domain including office productivity tools, collaboration tools, conferencing, workplace audio visual tools, end user devices, device management, support desk, client operating systems, virtual desktop, desk and room booking solutions, web browsers, and printing & imaging devices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and good judgment
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder relationship skills
  • Thorough understanding of Lean/Agile principles
  • Experience working with or in the utility industry.

 

Technical Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of cloud concepts – iPaaS, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS
  • User Technology Portfolio planning experience from a to 3-6 year time horizon. 
  • Vendor contract management & licensing capacity planning experience.
  • Software development experience – CI/CD
  • Knowledge, expertise, and experience with the Microsoft 365 platform (Office, Teams, Stream, Intune, Co-pilot, Loop, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure Authentication
  • TOGAF Certified or other Architecture Framework certification
