McCormick Paints has an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Center Tractor Trailer Driver. We are looking for a Full-Time, Class A Driver to perform deliveries to our 28 stores located around the Metro area of Washington DC, MD, VA and Delaware.

THE POSITION:
  • Based out of the Distribution Center in Frederick, MD
  • Shift start times are usually between 12am – 4am, depending on destination, with deliveries usually being completed by 6am or 8am.
Driver Responsibilities:
  • Driving a 2020 Freightliner (manual shift) with a Trailer / Rail Lift Gate. Each of our Tractor Trailers has an electric pallet jack for easy unloading
  • Responsible for accurate and timely deliveries (Regionally), organize schedule to maximize productivity, meet schedules, and complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Utilize a portable Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
  • Unloading trucks upon delivery, by use of lift gate and electric pallet jack to move pallets of paint and sundry items from trucking to loading area
  • Must observe, obey and abide by all traffic signs, laws, and road conditions when operating any motorized vehicle
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on vehicle, report maintenance issues to Distribution Center Manager, and obey all state and federal laws
  • Must participate in random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT regulations
  • Subject to Corporate Driver’s Point Rating System

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to drive manual transmission
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment and periodic, background check and drug testing
  • Must have a clean driving record (MVR)
  • Must be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must pass DOT physical and obtain a DOT Medical Examination Card
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with vendors, managers and coworkers
  • Must have good interpretational skills and able to read maps, follow GPS directions and efficiently navigate highways and roads
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job with/without reasonable accommodation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be capable of lifting in excess of 60 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time, able to climb steps and ladders, and capable of bending, stooping and carrying products up steps, stairs, down ramps and, walkways.
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs. 5 feet from the floor
  • Upon delivery, must be able to unload vehicle using lift gate and electric pallet jack to move pallets of paint weighing 2,100 to 2,300 lbs.
