General Hospitality Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain hotel’s Quality Customer Service standards and uphold the mission statements through the strict follow up of the Hospitality Rules.
  • Maintain and abide to time clock rules, report to work area on time.
  • Keep high grooming standards at all times and keep work area clean and safe.
  • Wear, maintain and follow uniform standards at all times.
  • Must become familiar and proficient in all aspects of the property, departments, locations, hours of operations, rooms, activities, etc. respond to guests accurately.
  • Use guest etiquette at all times.
  • Follow proper Handling Inquiries/Requests and complaints standards, and maintain the guest satisfaction rule at all times.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette and answering techniques when answering the telephone.
  • Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, at all times.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Follow proper emergency and safety procedures at all times.
  • Assist all disabled guests, catering to their special needs as much as possible.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check assignments with Housekeeper and sign out keys.
  • Check all supply needed and restock as necessary
  • Restock amenities for the rooms
  • Maintain Room Attendant cart clean and orderly at all times and ensure all towels and linen are kept up to standard
  • Clean, sweep and mop the guest room, bathroom, balcony and patios to guest satisfaction and according to standards. Checkout rooms have to be thoroughly cleaned and ready for new arrivals.
  • Handle Do Not Disturb rooms according to procedures.
  • Remove all Room Service items from the room and put in corridors for pick-up by F&B Runner.
  • Maintain floor free of dust, dirt and water stains.
  • Empty and clean trash containers and ashtrays. Wash flower bowl and replace and separate old flowers
  • Remove all dirty towels and linen from the rooms; take all ruined linens out of circulation. Replace for fresh ones
  • Clean in bathroom: mirrors, vanity and sink, toilet, shower, bathtub, shower curtain and refresh towels daily.
  • Restock bathroom with facial and toilet tissue, soap, shampoo, bath gel and amenities as instructed.
  • Clean in the room: closet, doors, furniture, chairs, pictures and frames, under bed, television, radio clock, windows, lamps, telephone, door knobs, sliding glass-door frame, clean and shine fixtures.
  • Ensure ice bucket, glasses and tray are clean and free of stains, mildew, water spots and fingerprints.
  • Align drapes, sheers and clean shutters. Check for stains and tears, hooks and gliders.
  • Report soiled sheers, drapes and chair cushion
  • Place amenities and information in guest room per designated arrangement.
  • Clean patio, balcony, furniture, glasses and fence.
  • Make up bed, crib and rollaway bed.
  • Turn in lost & found items to the linen attendant or the housekeeper
  • Weekly standard training
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Place towels neatly on shelve.
  • Check all lights, telephone and faucets and verify their working condition, report any malfunction.
  • Wash mop, bucket, broom and basin at the end of shift.
  • Sweep and mop linen room at the end of shift.
  • Ensure to handle all guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Report unsafe areas, practices or suspicious people immediately.
  • Report lost and found immediately.
  • Clean and organize all cleaning equipment and cart.
  • Report to Supervisor and turn in assignment sheet and keys.
  • Be familiar with the property’s fire and emergency program
  • Any other reasonable duties as required


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum EPB education
  • 20 years and up
  • Understanding of English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento

Working conditions

This position works in the usual Guest room environment with the usual considerations to space, lighting and ventilation. In addition to the Guest room this position may do work in the field.
