ATCS’ Herndon headquarters is looking for a Land Survey Technician to support various survey and engineering projects for private and public clients.

Candidates should be knowledgeable of survey techniques, as well as experienced in processing data for topographic surveys, physical surveys, boundary surveys, plats, and construction layout. This position will:

  • Perform office survey assignments
  • Process the results of field surveys, including boundaries and topographic surveys, using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads/GEOPAK/ORD
  • Collaborate with project team members, to include licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical staff
  • Support plat development
  • Assist the engineering staff in preparation of civil engineering design plans, as well as assisting the field survey crews in performance of field survey work, if required
  • Support the field survey crews in performing boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, transportation and utility surveys, as-builts, and construction stakeout, if required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in engineering technology or surveying preferred (not required); college level survey or CAD classes a plus.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of survey experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant technical software, including Civil 3D / MicroStation
  • Knowledge of commonly used CADD and survey practices and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
