POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for providing personal and business clients and prospects with information regarding financial planning including retirement, education, and tax-advantaged planning services leading to sales of investment and insurance solutions designed to meet client financial goals. Responsible for working with Program Manager in developing, implementing and achieving the bank’s wealth management business plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Accepts and conforms to the terms of the employment agreement(s) executed between the employee and the bank including a mutual employment agreement executed between the employee, the bank, and Osaic Institutions. Ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and requirements of both First National Bank and its partners.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the business, including the office, marketing materials, client files, seminar materials and new accounts are compliant with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  3. Responsible for the sales and distribution of personal investment products and services to individual and business customers to satisfy client needs while increasing the organization’s profitability by achieving revenue targets.
  4. Determines specific customer needs and ensures that suitable investment and/or insurance strategies are utilized. Provides advice to customers on personal investment product purchases and sale/redemptions by informing them of current market trends and recommending appropriate investment strategies.
  5. Partners effectively with bank personnel including branch staff and commercial bankers to generate leads for investment and insurance products. Conducts the training of bank personnel in order to enhance the success of the investment referral process. Refers clients and prospects to bank personnel for borrowing, deposit product, cash management and other banking needs.
  6. Conducts in-person and telephone meetings with prospective clients with the goal of developing relationships and generating leads; follows through with referral sources to increase the potential for future qualified referrals.
  7. Undertakes independent business development efforts in addition to working with referrals from bank staff.
  8. Maintains up-to-date familiarity with client portfolios to ensure consistency with client goals and identify opportunities for additional business.
  9. Maintains a full working knowledge of various software packages to enhance business development, client service and operational processes including those available through Osaic Institutions.
  10. Keeps informed of industry market conditions, product and service trends, tax law changes, and other issues. Identifies, advocates for, develops and implements improvements as needed.
  11. Represents the bank by participating in community affairs, clubs and organizations to assess the needs of the community, enhance the bank’s visibility and increase new business opportunities. Conducts seminars during and after regular business hours.


Requirements:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a current FINRA registration and State Insurance Licensing Certification
  2. FINRA Series 7 & 65 or Series 7 & 66
  3. Life, Accident & Health
  4. BS or BA degree in a related field normally required.
  5. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field normally required.
  6. Strong initiative that drives results and negotiation skills to initiate, develop and secure relationships with new and existing clients; track record of successful sales/service performance in the investment services business.
  7. Extensive knowledge of investment and insurance products and services and their application and appropriateness to individual customer needs and goals.
  8. Ability to motivate people and communicate effectively through excellent interpersonal skills; strong presentation, written and verbal communication, and skills to address potential and existing client issues and communicate with a wide variety of constituencies.
  9. Ability to use general offices equipment and computer software including Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  10. Must have transportation and be able to accommodate appointments outside of the bank at customer’s homes or offices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an onsite position (not remote) and this position requires a high degree of mobility. May be subject to prolonged sitting/standing, frequent use of hands and upper body to manipulate/grasp objects/branch equipment, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, lifting of 1 – 15 lbs. Must be able to travel by vehicle to customer locations/branches/meetings/seminars, and so forth.
