POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer’s primary responsibility is to work with internal teams to support product development and enhancements to ensure the customers’ expectations for cost, schedule, and quality are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary engineering point of contact for internal teams regarding production secondary tooling issues, addressing issues promptly and efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
  • Participate in the secondary tooling change control process, including documentation of change requests, evaluation of proposed changes, and approval of changes either independently or in collaboration with project engineers as necessary, ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly and do not adversely affect production processes
  • Provide support to maintenance teams in implementing short-term fixture repairs, including identifying suitable substitutions, facilitating quality checks, managing component inventory, and ensuring the implementation of countermeasures to prevent recurring issues
  • Develop, maintain, and administer fixture standards and preventive maintenance (PM) plans to ensure the reliability and longevity of secondary tooling
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of ergonomic standards for secondary tooling to meet OSHA safety requirements
  • Act as a technical lead to support continuous improvement initiatives to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the manufacturing environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED: Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical environment requires the employee to work in a manufacturing and office environment. The employee must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment. Occasional travel may be required.
