The Opportunity

The Conexon Connect Field Marketing Manager will serve as the “face” of Conexon Connect in its local Georgia markets – representing the ISP with local media, local town, city and county officials, and at community events, forums, meetings and other venues where Connect determines to have a visible presence. The position is a public and community relations one with a strong bias toward identifying and securing opportunities for the residential and commercial sales teams to leverage. This may include, but is not limited to event placements/opportunities, with peripheral duties that include partnering with marketing and sales to plan staffing and when appropriate, attend community events, managing logistics and serving as team lead for those staffing the tent or booth. He or she will also work with the Connect marketing director to identify opportunities for Connect sponsorship/participation, representing Connect in those opportunities.

Requirements:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Identify local organizations within Conexon Connect markets in which the ISP should be involved whether through financial support or active participation; including but not limited to: key chambers, schools or school boards, community boards, education entities, school sponsorships, youth sports, local college, church organizations, etc.
  2. Springboard from the existing Connect event and sponsorship plan to identify additional venues/opportunities or reduce presence when appropriate.
  3. Attend relevant and appropriate meetings with the co-op to maintain positive relationships
  4. Establish relationships with local media in Connect markets, maintaining open communication to secure local placements when appropriate and looking for opportunities
  5. Establish relationships, collaborate with and partner with co-op counterparts to serve as a sounding board to local officials regarding Connect service.
  6. Provide community feedback to Connect marketing leadership
  7. Identify opportunities that will open doors for Connect commercial and residential sales teams
  8. Travel to appropriate local events and manage the Connect presence to ensure smooth and successful participation.
  9. Partner with co-ops to determine best type of presence at events/forums
  10. Identify Connect event opportunities for informal presence
  11. Work with Connect marketing leadership to develop event/sponsorship strategies for customer relationship building in local markets
  12. Be proficient at creating and presenting the Connect story in local venues
  13. Work with co-op counterparts and sales teams to identify customer “champions,” or case studies
  14. Support B2B initiatives including podcasts, webinars and in-person workshops.

Conexon is looking for a motivated, passionate, and creative person for the position of Conexon Connect Field Marketing Manager. The right person will have strong organizational skills, be decisive within the scope of the position's responsibilities, and use consistent discretion and good judgment. They will be a creative thinker, detail oriented, responsible to timelines, an excellent partner with key internal stakeholders and Connect co-op partners, and excited by a day in which you are working across several different topics and stakeholders.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, sponsorship, or events experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of marketing communications
  • Great eye for detail, a creative mind, collaborative work style, and great interpersonal skills with ability to communicate crisply and clearly with a positive attitude

  • Positive attitude and passion for local events and relationships
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally to attend small-town, local events and festivals
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and collaborate
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; strong collaboration skills
