Family Allergy & Asthma is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Biologic Inventory Specialist for our Biologics (Specialty Medications) department at our Clinic! The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory control and prior authorizations!


Location: 9800 Shelbyville Rd, Suite #220, Louisville, KY 40223

Schedule: Hourly Role - Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay: Will be based on experience and interviews



Biologic Inventory Specialist Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all biologic appointments have a valid, active prior authorization
  • Collaborate with team members to obtain authorizations if not already in place
  • Accurately confirm counts in the inventory system on a weekly basis
  • Reconcile medications delivered to each office by scanning items into the inventory system
  • Monitor the inventory system for discrepancies and collaborate with the local team to resolve issues
  • Conduct weekly inventory reconciliation at each site
  • Verify prior authorizations for biologic appointments a day before the scheduled date
  • Check pending appointments in the Authorization Referral tracker and ensure prior authorizations are in place
  • Ensure proper handling of Buy and Bill patients in the inventory system
  • Address and correct any discrepancies with team members
  • Work independently and direct staff as needed
  • Effectively communicate with staff and address issues with patience
  • Undertake any additional tasks assigned by management

Biologic Inventory Specialist Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Relevant inventory management experience and prior authorizations, preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to interact with staff directly and patiently
  • Ability to work independently and direct staff
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • CPR certification required
