Salary: $17.00/ Hour

We are seeking a full-time Dispatch Coordinator that is flexible and self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude. A dispatcher who carefully evaluates and develops a plan to supervise employees in the most efficient way possible. Someone who adapts to unforeseen situations that may arise and the consequences to other departments and team members.

A candidate who takes action to make things right and limit disruptions. Someone who can serve as a liaison between different departments and people. Someone to correspond with employees to ensure that routes are going as planned. Keep company labor costs down while still providing excellent service by providing detailed accounts of daily activities by analyzing patterns or inefficiencies. The ideal candidate will possess safety knowledge on driving limitations, such as DOT regulations, and take that into consideration.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor, and oversee Key Account Managers, Account Supervisors, Merchandisers, and Drivers utilizing EMD monitoring and GPS tracking systems (AT&T Tracking system).
  • Report, analyze, and complete timesheets on a bi-weekly basis. Collects the data and reports to management weekly on performance and challenges.
  • Reports data on work hours per team member to the payroll department with evidence of time sheets and work performed on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Dispatch supervisors keep employee records, including productivity tracking and attendance documentation.
  • Staying within the budget. Dispatch supervisors propose a projected number of man-hours at route initiation and track those hours throughout the route.
  • Quality work is important for retaining current customers, attracting new ones, and meeting industry standards. Dispatch supervisors advise new employees, making sure they are aware of job, company, and company requirements, as well as safety standards.
  • The supervisor monitors dispatcher calls to ensure optimal performance, integrity, and professionalism. These call reviews are used to identify dispatcher strengths and weaknesses, coaching opportunities, and as a basis for performance reviews.
  • Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from Merchandisers, Supervisors, Key Account Managers, or emergency personnel.
  • Thinking ahead to anticipate potential problems, such as allowing extra delivery time due to bad weather.
  • Managing time wisely and analyzing new ways in which transportation, merchandising, and procedures could be improved.
  • Displaying a commitment to teamwork since the job requires regular contact with other departments and personnel.
  • All other duties assigned

  • Ability to work under sometimes stressful situations and remain during rapidly changing circumstances. 
  • Ability to receive and relay information accurately in a fast-paced environment.


Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in transportation or logistics (preferred)
  • Dispatch Supervision experience is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual (preferred)
