General Kinematics Corporation is currently looking for a qualified Construction Inventory Coordinator to join our site team in Wabash, IN. The Construction Inventory Coordinator will play a critical role in effectively coordinating the flow of materials and supplies on a construction site. Their primary objective is to ensure that all required materials are available when needed, minimizing delays and disruptions in the production or construction process. The Construction Inventory coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining efficiency and productivity, as well as keeping costs under control.


Responsibilities / Duties

  • Materials Management: Coordinate the procurement, storage, distribution, and tracking of materials and supplies required for production, projects, or operational needs.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, item locations, and consumption rates. Perform regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Purchase Order Processing: Generate purchase orders, review, and verify supplier invoices, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials. Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to purchase orders.
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials to the appropriate locations. Monitor shipment schedules, track deliveries, and communicate any delays or issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Material Planning: Work closely with production and project teams to forecast material needs based on upcoming demand. Develop and maintain material planning schedules to ensure adequate supply availability while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to materials management activities, such as purchase orders, receipts, and inventory transactions. Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize material flow, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and standardize materials management practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials received meet quality standards and specifications. Coordinate with quality control teams to address any non-conformities or quality issues promptly.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to materials management, including safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in materials coordination, inventory management, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of materials management principles, including procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
