**Summary Objective:**

**$150 Bonus for NEW Lifeguards**

The Head Lifeguard is responsible for assisting the Aquatics Director with the daily operations of the aquatic department along with guarding the pool and assuring a safe and clean aquatic environment for members and guests.

**Essential Functions:**

* Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time

* Safeguard pool areas and enforce rules and regulations in a professional manner

* Maintain a clean and safe environment

* Be aware of pool and surrounding area at all times

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Greet all members, guests, and visitors as they enter pool area

* Rescue patrons and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including proper use of first aid equipment

* Test water quality in pools, adjust chemicals as needed, and maintain records

* Maintain the pool, pool deck, area, and pump room

* Assist in equipment maintenance and promptly report any breakdowns or other problems

* Address all questions or comments from members and guests, making referrals as needed

* Enforce the aquatics schedule in a professional manner

* Perform patron and/or youth swimming tests to assess ability to swim independently

* Complete all necessary paperwork

* Attend all required meetings and trainings as assigned

* Understand and follow employee standards of conduct and ethics

* Understand and uphold club building, facilities, service, program, and emergency procedures

* Follow-up on the completion of daily and weekly cleaning tasks

* Assist Aquatics Director with Lifeguard scheduling and covering open shifts

* Support Aquatics Director with new hire training

* Assist Aquatics Director with Lifeguard in-service training

* Assume other duties as assigned

* Work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary

* The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
