The Director, IT business partner, to the Cell Therapy Development & Operations (CTDO) Quality business unit within GPS IT is accountable for the strategic planning, delivery and end-to-end operations of IT digital capabilities aligned to CTDO Quality.  This role will partner with CTDO Quality senior management to identify and drive delivery of digital capabilities that have the highest business impact. The role will also lead a team of technologists responsible for the support, maintenance and state of compliance of a global LIMS/eLN capability.Roles & Responsibilities:Responsible for the strategic planning of digital capabilities for CTDO QualityResponsible for the development of long-term (24-36 month) roadmaps identifying digital capabilities that have the greatest impact on CTDO Quality worldwide. Responsible for developing strategic and collaborative partnerships with multiple levels of leadership in the CTDO Quality business unit.  Ability to become the trusted partner and advisor to all stakeholders in CTDO Quality by demonstrating deep domain knowledge.Responsible for the communication, implementation and operation of the Digital Capability Governance process.Accountable for the end-to-end ownership of a global LIMS/eLN environment; articulating and delivering release and work intake strategies, support models, growth and enhancement strategies to extract maximum value from that capability.Responsible for building out internal team of support and capability focused technology professionals in alignment with the larger IT workforce strategy.Demonstrates matrix leadership of IT resources in other IT functions: responsible for ensuring that all IT functions are successful in their delivery of services to CTDO Quality.  Key matrix IT partner functions include internal and strategic external partners.Skills/Experiences:Requires advanced knowledge of work outside own function and deep expertise in own function, typically gained through a university degree and 10-12 years of experience.  Minimum of 12 years experience with deep functional and technical expertise in laboratory operations, systems, and processes.   Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), lab automation, and other relevant software.Proven record of success leading software/technology implementations of all sizes.   Ability to lead the strategic planning and implementation of enterprise digital capabilities.Demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and partner with all levels of business and IT leadership.Strong knowledge of current good manufacturing/clinical practices (GxP), particularly as relates to IT (21 CFR Part 11, Data Integrity, etc.).Works independently to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.  Recommends course of action to achieve results. Responsible for the direct management of implementation teams including results/outcomes, coaching.Leads a team/functional group to solve problems/create deliverables; structures the work of the team for maximum efficiency and manages to completion. Creates and communicates work product that clearly conveys project status or problem and proposed resolution including solution and courses of action. Influences internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational decisions and business requirements have a positive impact on the function and BMS. Directs external vendors tactically, providing some strategic input to vendors on services delivered. Recommends pursuing actions based on impact on people, technology, structure, and/or workflow. Initiates challenging opportunities that build strong capabilities for self and team.  Develops and implements proactive approaches to new technologies and processes. Leads complex initiatives related to continuous improvement or development of new approaches/technologies within or across functions or departments. Takes necessary risks to test and advance innovative processes and approaches. Critically evaluates and interprets current trends.
