Shifts Needed: AM/PM/NOC--Weekends Preferred

Redwood Family Care Network is hiring direct support professionals to provide support for a 24 year old young man with Autism and a Sieizure Disorder. He is very active and is happiest engaging in a variety of activities including music, hiking, sports and social activities. We are in search of compassionate, patient and caring individuals who want to make a real difference in this young man’s life. He requires support to access the many activities he is interested in and navigate social settings. Applicant must be approved by IHSS or apply for IHSS within the first 90 days of employment.

 

Here's What You'll Do:

The Direct Support Professionals supports individuals with developmental disabilities to have quality of life. The Direct Support Professionals promotes the health, safety and well-being of an individual. A Direct Support Professionals serves as an advocate for our clients.
 

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each the individual by participating in the development of Individual Program Plan/Individual Service Plan (IPP/ISP) goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the indivdual.
• Support the needs and goals of the individual by taking him to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging him to socialize among peers.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Transporting and driving client with provided vehicle to and from program and activities daily.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of seizure disorders and experience in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities 
• Able to manage individuals with behaviors in a safe manner
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
• First Aid / CPR (Preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs.

• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to walk actively in fast pace.
• Able to keep up with individual schedule and activities such as sports, and outdoor activites
