DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Instructor, you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing, coaching, and evaluating inmates in the trade of refrigeration mechanics, through both classroom and on-the-job instruction. You will provide supervision, security and custody for inmates assigned to work detail. Additionally, you will provide maintenance support relating to the refrigeration and air conditioning trade in both construction and repair.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of experience in the repair and servicing of refrigeration systems or air conditioning systems; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade.

Special Requirement:

• You must be in possession of an active Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certificate issued by an approved provider.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
