Are you passionate about providing outstanding administrative support in the medical field? We are currently seeking an experienced Permanent Medical Referral Clerk to join our dynamic team. This exciting role is centered around managing outgoing medical referrals and ensuring a smooth and efficient process for patients and medical professionals alike. The successful candidate will be a vital part of our primary care medical office, working closely with the medical team, patients, and insurance providers. The position requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a thorough understanding of the medical referral process.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and process outgoing medical referrals, ensuring all patient information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate the referral process.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all referral information, including patient details, referral reasons, and insurance details.
  • Follow up on pending referrals, ensuring patients receive timely care.
  • Ensure all referral-related documentation is compliant with privacy laws and regulations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all referral-related inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to understand patient needs and ensure appropriate referrals.
  • Continually update knowledge of insurance company requirements and policies regarding referrals.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a primary care medical office.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outgoing medical referrals.
  • Superior organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, including patients, medical professionals, and insurance providers.
  • Proficiency in using medical software and databases.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance practices.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity, in line with privacy laws and regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in healthcare administration will be considered an asset.
