FLSA: Part Time 20-24 hours per week

Rate: $16/Hour

Position Summary:

The Sales Associate helps create and maintain an environment that is customer oriented and sales driven. Sales Associate works with supervisors to maintain all facets of the Gift Shop. Multiple customer skillsets are required to be successful in this role. Daily goals include: providing people with memorable and positive experience to spark a return to the organization, converting those customers on sales, and biggest of all required is the ability to provide a world class guest experience with the three pillars of retail (People, Product, & Planet).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service-Sales Associates are responsible for delivering world class customer service, which is defined by meeting, greeting and serving customers that guarantees repeat visitors. Maintaining and achieving financial goals and expectations of the Butterfly Pavilion.
  • Sales- Provide customer sales services that exceed our guest expectations and ensures the financial success of the retail department and Butterfly Pavilion.
  • Merchandising- Perform daily tasks that enable the gift shop and concessions to appear aesthetically pleasing and to keep all fixtures organized and fully stocked with product. Fixtures and merchandise must be free of dust, blemishes, and fingerprints.
  • Rosie's Rules- Provide professional and courteous service at all times using Rosie's Rules for a best in class experience.

Qualifications:

  • Age 18+
  • Able to work in the United States
  • Able to work weekends and some nights
  • 0-1 + years in a retail and/or food customer service position
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Participate in the working knowledge of all aspects of Butterfly Pavilion business, including education, research and conservation efforts
  • Participate in all required staff meeting
  • Proficient technology skills, including Microsoft Office 365, as well as ability to learn and run our POS/database system, Retail Pro database.

Experience:

  • Proven ability to meet customer's needs with excellent customer care, merchandising, stocking, straightening, cleaning, inventory management, and cash handling.
  • Experience in retail and/or food customer service requiring the use of a register and merchandising is preferred.
  • Some Post-Secondary Education Preferred
  • Bi Lingual preferred

Employee should be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.


Work schedule:

A range of hours in typical work week / Part Time Hourly up to 25 hours week. This is a part time hourly position, and general hours of work are somewhere between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on assigned days (assigned days and hours are depending on store needs); however, this position can requires long hours anywhere from 5- 9 hours) and weekend work.
