Leer South is looking for a Longwall Shield Operator to join our successful team in Philippi, West Virginia.

Job Title: Longwall Shield Operator

Grade: $33.00/hour

Job Location: Sentinel/Leer South Mining Complex (Philippi, WV)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Operate all functions on Shield
• Responsible for maintenance on the face
• Responsible for maintenance on the Shield
• Assist Shearer operator with maintenance on Shearer
• Ability to position roof supports

MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of three years of underground mining experience
• Experience as a production operator in Longwall coal mining
• Demonstrated ability to follow safe work procedures and inspection procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Record of good work attendance and punctuality
• WV underground certification required
