Allan Myers is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and driven Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our elite team of professionals working on big and exciting heavy civil construction projects. This will lead the overall job site safety program and set the tone for an incident and injury free work environment. You will be responsible for compliance with corporate, federal, and state HSE policies. This position requires extensive travel/commute to and from field sites.

Responsibilities:

    Conducts site observations for safety compliance and behavior-based inspections and performs incident investigations while adhering to company policies.
  • Assists Operations Team with pre-planning safety into all situations through risk-assessment, job hazard analysis, identifying hazards, and putting in place controls.
  • Readies and provides training documentation and other materials to ensure worksites have required OSHA, MSHA, and DOT documentation in place (i.e. HazCom, rigging, cranes, excavation, scaffolds, etc.) & provides training materials for specific site hazards based on site visit needs assessment.
  • Recognizes loss exposure to the project by utilizing HSE risk management techniques & applies creative and innovative techniques for management of risk exposure.
  • Conducts Subcontractor Safe starts and assists project team in overseeing subcontractor safety compliance and performance.
  • Conducts, develops, and oversees all OSHA and MSHA inspections and related training, as well as new hire orientation.
  • Provides safety expertise to Project Team and in jobsite support.
  • Analyzes and reviews the Myers' safety culture and suggests change processes to establish proactive and desirable behavior as per the core values.
  • Responsible for operating company vehicle (Ford F-150).
Qualifications
  • HSE/Safety related Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of experience in a HSE/Safety role; OR no degree with 7+ years of experience in a Heavy Civil construction supervisor/manager role.
  • Experience with HSE responsibilities on multiple projects or $25mil+ in revenue
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • HSE/Safety certification a plus.
  • Must be able to travel overnight or long distances on occasion.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
