The Role

As the DEI Manager, Programs and Recruitment you have a passion for creating an equitable, inclusive workplace while establishing a culture that supports team members' sense of belonging such that team members can be their authentic selves. You will report to AArete's VP, People and partner closely with various leaders across the organization to embed DEI into the organization's culture, overall brand, mission, vision, and values. You will take a lead strategic role within AArete's DEI Center of Excellence and will actively participate with internal and external networks to stay on top of emerging trends and best practices.

This role will require a strategic thinker with a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, combined with a proven track record in diversity recruiting. You will be an essential part of our talent acquisition efforts and will play a key role in connecting with the next generation of talent and shaping the future of our firm. The individual should be able to balance the demands of both functions while driving innovation and continuous improvement in talent acquisition and DEI initiatives.

Work You'll Do

  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Leadership:
  • Partner closely with various leaders across the organization to embed DEI into the organization's culture, brand, mission, vision, and values
  • Lead strategic initiatives focused on employee, marketplace, and community diversity
  • Provide leadership, coaching and oversight to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), business leaders, scaling inclusion and diversity initiatives across the organization
  • Monitor and achieve quarterly and annual key performance indicators for multi-year DEI goals
  • Act as a trusted advisor within the People Team to incorporate DEI awareness and skills development into training programs
  • Establish external relationships with peer DEI practitioners and represent AArete in internal and external forums
  • Evaluate and refine diversity tracking methods, identifying challenges and establishing goals
  • Early Careers & Campus Recruiting:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive campus recruitment strategy aligned with AArete's workforce needs and growth plans
  • Maintain and manage the overall process and candidate activity for intern and early careers roles
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key universities, faculty, and career services
  • Source passive talent using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, and other relevant tools
  • Facilitate and attend on and off-campus recruiting events, such as career fairs and information sessions
  • Plan and lead AArete's internship and co-op programs
  • Provide guidance and expertise to the Recruiting and hiring teams, ensuring they implement the best practices for diverse hiring throughout the talent acquisition process
  • Additional recruiting initiatives as directed by the VP People

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading strategy and initiatives with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion
  • 2+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Proficiency in talent sourcing using platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Handshake, and other relevant tools
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and task follow-through
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Collaborative, with strong team orientation and leadership abilities
  • Strategic thinking and a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Passion for recruitment with a can-do, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sociology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Must be able to be in the Chicago IL office 4 days a week
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience recruiting for Management Consulting, Professional Services, or Technology roles highly preferred
  • Experience with early careers and campus recruiting, including internships and entry-level positions
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, preferably Jobvite
