Network Technician I

HOW A NETWORK TECHNICIAN I WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware
  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
  • Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware)
  • Provides software and system troubleshooting and support
  • Provides technical support and training to end-users
  • Administers Network Security
  • Backs up file server data
  • Provides minor to moderately complex server maintenance
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Participates in special projects as required


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: AA/AS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
  • Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support; Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software; Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance required
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Network security; problem solver; superb communication skills
  • Preferred Skills: Security+
  • Location: On Customer Site / Moderate travel to other customer sites in the Pacific
  • US Citizenship Required

Salary and Benefit Information
The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.60 - $38.40. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
