POSITION

The Manager of Retail is accountable for all aspects of 3 store operations to optimize guest experience and deliver profitable results. This includes collaboration with Alterra buyers and councils for product assortment, merchandising oversite, in-store operational excellence, e-store, and financial responsibility. The Manager models the vision of fostering an experience for our staff and guests as the friendliest and most welcoming destination and supporting the mission of Sharing the Solitude Dream. The Manager of Retail is instrumental in the development and execution of long-term strategic planning and growth of these departments with an entrepreneurial and results-oriented approach.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding the established Retail divisions financial targets, employee engagement scores (EES) and guest satisfaction (NPS) metrics.
  • Work with Finance and Yield Management team to establish, administer, and be accountable for budget and pricing strategy including preparation of annual budget by established deadlines for 3 outlets.
  • Collaborate with Alterra Buying Team on Open to Buy merchandise plan and assortments to achieve financial goals.
  • Ongoing analysis of key results at the resort and BU level and implement new programming to achieve targets, as necessary.
  • Act as an effective representative of SSRC to suppliers and outside affiliates in ways that enhance SSRC's public image and facilitates understanding of the company's visions.
  • Support supervisor to operate business unit including inventory control, product transfers, and inventory reporting to facilitate purchasing decisions.
  • Contributes to the creation and final review of Retail marketing plans to align with resort strategy and priority programs.
  • Engage with Alterra Buying Group and Council strategic and operational meetings to review important updates trends, results, and inventory movement.
  • Consult on resort's annual merchandise purchase of retail hardgoods by established deadlines.
  • Work on the front lines, attend team meetings or assist with special projects based on business volume.
  • Lead and/or Attend Department Orientation and Training Meetings
  • Manage and provide satisfactory and timely guest resolution for customer relations and complaints.
  • Observe all local, state, and federal laws and regulations while ensuring that all associates are appropriately always trained and in full compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all associates adhere to company procedures for checking ID requirements in all applicable transactions including sales of alcoholic beverages laws.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Business Management, merchandising and retail experience
  • Five to seven years preferred with two years in a key leadership position
  • Comfortable using information systems including Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to operate a custom POS system
  • Must be able to quickly re-prioritize when problems arise
  • Experience in retail shop design and planning
  • Experience in the garment industry
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English
  • Must have a valid driver's license and successfully complete motor vehicle record check and meet driver's standards requirements
  • Ideally able to ski or ride at a minimum intermediate level to access some outlets


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma
