DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:The Fenway Park Events team is committed to creating memories for guests who are her for unique non-baseball experiences. We focus on both private and ticketed live events. Our team strives to be at the forefront of Boston’s hospitality and tourism industry by giving thoughtful, gracious service to ensure our client’s vision come to life and our guests enjoy unforgettable events in an iconic, distinctly Boston setting. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Event Host provides support with onsite event execution/supervision. In this role, you will develop a broad and comprehensive view of the private event and public ticketed event business at Fenway Park. This position is a high guest contact position; service skills, an eye for detail and outgoing friendly and gracious personality are a must. RESPONSIBILITIES: Onsite event support and supervision including overseeing event space preparation, greeting clients and vendors, load-in/setup, event execution, event close/load-out, as well as liaison with all operating departments. Provide onsite support to Event Manager by coordinating the execution of all event logistics and timelines. Maintain strong relationships with clients and onsite personnel and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience for the event planner and attendees. Regular checks with onsite operating departments for updates on overall operations, and general feedback. Ability to support for multiple events at once, serving as the primary liaison to clients and ballpark operations personnel. Track, investigate, and resolve all client feedback to assist with providing recommended improvements. Solicit and summarize written post-event details to Fenway Park Events staff. Participate in site visits and event coordination meetings, as necessary. Assist with changing projects that support the department’s event management efforts, as assigned. Provide administrative support for all department projects. Provide onsite logistical client support for events scheduled in 521 Overlook event space, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently. CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working with a high level of intensity and focus on commitment to meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to work well across departments, with clients and with business partners. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact professionally with individuals inside and outside the company. Works well and stays calm and gracious under pressure while multi-tasking. High degree of professionalism in appearance and conduct. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays specifically during the Spring/Summer. Prior customer service work experience within fast-paced, high-energy work environments preferred. Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and experience with Salesforce preferred.
