Special Education Educational Assistant

Responsibilities:
  • Work with the classroom and special education teacher to provide the best services possible for the student
  • Assist teacher during class time in redirecting undesirable behaviors.
  • Aiding children in need of help and establishing a peaceful classroom environment
  • Work with the teacher to prepare educational environment each morning to further understand the goals of the class and the school for each student.
  • Supervise children during lunch and recreational time. 
  • Carry out all specific procedures and responsibilities as outlined by the Staff Handbook and the teacher.
  • Lead by example always be a role model to students and help foster a sense of integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all persons.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • ParaPro certificate or AA Degree
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children w/a variety of disabilities.
  • Willingness to obtain Handle With Care Certification.
