Job Description
We are currently seeking an Accounting Clerk II for a candidate seeking a long term career.
Pay Scale: $52,240 to $66,560 / Annual
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 year college degree in business or some type of accounting. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a payroll lead or bookkeeper role. Full knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Version.
Duties:
Supervise payroll department
Responsible for weekly payroll report to PEO (We train on this task)
Responsible for wage deductions/garnishments and coordination with PEO and notification to employee(s) as required by law
Responsible for VMS implementation and maintenance including but not limited to timecard entry, billing issues, communication between accounting, client, and VMS
Responsible for weekly reports to clients as required
Responsible for weekly internal reports to Controller as required
Will assist Controller in new client onboarding
Will assist Controller in weekly funding cycle completion
Responsible for auditing weekly funding schedules for accuracy
Will coordinate with branch staff to ensure all sick time is properly submitted and processed on weekly basis
Responsible for weekly billing discrepancies and corrections, including, but not limited to pay adjustments for employees, credit memos, and pay adjustments from pervious pay periods
Maintain ADP account
Assist Controller in random audits of worker compensation rates and billing rates
Assist Controller in random audits of employee meal premiums, rest breaks, and overtime rules
Open and close payroll periods in database and maintain payroll records in compliance with company policy
Work with Controller on company financials, including receivables, payables, 401K maintenance, and payroll
Understanding of GAAP principles
Timecard calculations using State of California approved time card calculator
Work in conjunction with Controller on weekly funding cycles (borrowers base funding)
