Network Administrator

 

Location: Main Office Division: IT Department

Employee Name: Immediate Supervisor: Director of IT

Hourly/Salary: Salary Pay Range: $60K-$85K

 

 

Overview

The POSITION is an integral part in maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the company. It is a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.

 

Primary Purpose of Position

As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing our company’s infrastructure needs, including user account administration, core networking, server and operating system management, security configurations and protocols, system backups, and cloud resource management. Additionally, you will function as a liaison and first responder for Dynamics 365 and other business software issues, manage our Fareclock facial recognition and RingCentral/VOIP systems, and conduct user training. You will also serve as secondary support for our IT helpdesk, including technical support and managing remote site and field hardware.

 

Work Schedule

· Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or as needed.

· There may be times it may vary from the normal schedule according to the task at hand.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

· User Account Administration & Group Policies: Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies to ensure secure and efficient access to network resources.

· Core Network Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance and optimization of the network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks, to ensure high availability and performance.

· Server & OS Management: Administer server environments, including installation, configuration, updates, and troubleshooting across various operating systems, primarily Windows Server-based with occasional Red Hat and Ubuntu requirements.

· Cloud Management & VM Migrations in Azure: Responsible for managing cloud resources, including the deployment, management, and optimization of virtual machines and services in Azure. Plan and execute VM migrations to Azure, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.

· Backups and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans to mitigate risks.

· Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect data, software, cameras, and hardware. Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

· Dynamics 365 Liaison & First Responder: Function as a key contact for Dynamics 365 Finance and Business Operations issues, liaising with vendors and internal teams to resolve problems efficiently. Provide first-level support and troubleshooting for Dynamics 365 users.

· Fareclock Management: Manage the Fareclock facial recognition system, ensuring accurate timekeeping and system functionality.

· RingCentral/VOIP Management & Reporting: Oversee the VOIP system, including configuration, maintenance, and reporting to ensure quality communication within the company.

· User Training: Develop and deliver training programs for staff to ensure proper use of technology and systems, enhancing productivity and reducing IT support tickets.

Secondary Responsibilities

· Helpdesk/Technical Support: Provide backup support for the helpdesk, assisting with technical issues, software/hardware troubleshooting, and user assistance as needed.

· Remote/Field Hardware: Support remote sites and field hardware, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of remote equipment and devices.

 

Other Position Characteristics

1. Physical Effects:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work from a computer,

sitting for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or extend arms, and walk regularly throughout the day. The employee must be able to lift to 50 lbs. Employee is also required to use fingers to grasp and feel textures, size, and shape of objects.

2. Work Environmental and Biosecurity:

The employees will be working indoors most of the time. Employees may be required to visit various facilities, and must abide by facilities’ regulations regarding personal protective equipment (PPE), biosecurity, etc.

3. Safety for Others

The employee must comply with OSHA, and GMC rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. The employee should also ensure that others comply with these rules and regulations.

Education & Experience

· Associates and/or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

· Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in computer networks, systems maintenance, and network operating systems.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, Microsoft server environments, security best practices, and backup/disaster recovery strategies.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to provide clear instructions and support to non-technical users.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.

· Experience with Dynamics 365 a plus.

· Requires traveling to various locations and/or facilities as needed.

· Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation.

· Must be able to pass drug screen and background investigation.
