Job Purpose/Scope:

Reporting to the President of ARTAZN, the Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the strategic growth initiatives of ARTAZN, facilitating the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for the initiatives, and providing comprehensive insight into the direction of future growth.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Identifies and wins new customers in target markets with target products

  • Identifies decisions makers at each customer
  • Builds support team, including agent, decision influencers, US Commercial Service, consultants
  • Maps out value chain per market and product
  • Grows revenue through product penetration and displacing existing products or technologies
  • Maintains growth pipeline of high likelihood accounts and opportunities, over multi-year period, at least 3 times the value of the growth goal
  • Wins new customers and projects every year
  • Grows margin dollars year over year

Facilitates New Product Introduction (NPI) process

  • Leads and/or assists in driving new products through the stage gate New Product Introduction process
  • Collaborates with the NPI team to launch product on time, on cost, on quality

Supports and collaborates with Product Managers as necessary to grow products in target markets

Knowledge / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving targets.
  • Experience in management is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, able to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Technical skills required to create proposals and find solutions to meet client requirements, such as the use of software programs and machines/equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
  • Initiative-taking, organized with ability to work in stressful and uncertain environments.
  • Strong business acumen, including financial analysis skills and the ability to assess the financial viability of new ventures.
  • Skilled in strategic networking, expanding industry contacts, and staying updated with market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to lead complex negotiations and close deals.
  • Proficient in market research and analysis, evaluating competitive landscapes, identifying trends, and assessing market opportunities and risks.
  • Innovative and creative mindset, able to develop unconventional solutions and drive innovative business strategies.
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritization, resource allocation, and monitoring of project progress.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to adjust strategies, pivot when necessary, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

Specialized Working conditions and % Travel: (i.e., hearing, vision, extreme temperatures)

  • Ability to spend time in a heavy manufacturing environment to learn the products and our production capabilities and to interact with engineering and others to vet opportunities.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to meet with potential customers.
