Job Description:

As a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer within our Cybersecurity Division of SASSI, you will apply your cloud engineering and solutions development expertise to design, script, implement, and configure systems within AWS, Azure, Oracle, and other Cloud Service Provider environments. You will be a member of a R&D, development team to deploy virtual cybersecurity infrastructures delivered as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and leverage containerization and orchestration tools and techniques to provision and integrate cloud native solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

In this hybrid remote position supporting a DoD client based in the Washington metropolitan area you will provide direct and remote support to development and delivery code using DevSecOps tools, capabilities, and services within unclassified cloud hosted environments, supporting pipelines and delivery of code into classified cloud hosted environments in support of DoD's cyberspace defense efforts.   • Develop code for applications or enterprise-wide software systems using a disciplined development process, with an emphasis on utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Terraform) and Configuration as Code (CaC) (e.g. Ansible)
  • Contribute to and review deployment plans for installation, upgrades, and fixes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, gather automation requirements, design automated tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable automation solutions.
  • Support projects focused on private, multi-tenant, and multi-site solutions utilizing mixed OS environments (Windows and Linux.
  • Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning of automation solutions.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and provide input to project timelines and process development. Assist with identification, refinement, and scoping of technical requirements
  • Translate complex business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the pros/cons of various approaches to stakeholders
  • Conduct Proof of Concept demonstrations to visualize approach and help solidify technical direction.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow partnerships with the Build, Operations, and Engineering teams to drive service delivery, sustainment, and improvement
  • Remain current on IT trends pertaining to the area of practice (e.g., DevOps, Cloud, Microservices, Kubernetes, containers etc.)
  • Support testing efforts across the life cycle.
  • Ensure code and configurations are in compliance with all applicable standards, policies and procedures.
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback to peers in an organized and professional manner.

  • Must hold a minimum Secret clearance
  • Must hold a DoDM 8570.01 compliant certification for IAT II (e.g. CompTIA Security+)
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

or:

    • Position in programming/development or other related field w/ 4-8 years of relevant experience
    • A Master’s Degree in a related discipline w/ 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have the following professional or academic experience:
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with Cloud technologies, platforms, providers etc.
  • 3-5+ years of experience automating IT administration, IT processes, or business processes
  • 3-5+ years of experience managing or maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Network, and/or Security)

  • 1 or more years of experience with process orchestration
