TITLE: PHYSICAL THERAPY MANAGER

POSITION TYPE: FULL TIME

REPORTS TO: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

DEPARTMENT: PHYSICAL THERAPY

MAIN LOCATION: 3676 PARKER BLVD, PUEBLO, CO 81008

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for all duties of a Physical Therapy Manager. This position will ensure that the Clinic has the internal controls, delegation of duties, and systems in place to support effective program implementation and audits. The Physical Therapy Manager will establish strategies which will earn profits, oversee the entire revenue cycle, accounting, and payroll operations for staff. This position is also responsible for planning, interpreting, and administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages daily operation of Physical Therapy staff, including planning, goal setting, and quality measures.
  • Manages staff performance by providing regular feedback, 90-day and annual performance reviews, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Prepares and delivers reports to leadership and board of directors outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance activity.
  • Ensures adequate scheduling of staff and sufficient coverage for business needs. Works with Human Resources to recruit and hire staff as needed.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and supervision of all new hires, interns, and students.
  • Routinely works with management to provide feedback and plans of correction for reoccurring errors.
  • Stays up to date with all insurance, billing, coding, compliance, professional, and legal standards in order to communicate these to the rest of the department.
  • Fosters relationships with the community, businesses, and other medical offices.
  • Maintains equipment, takes medical and office supply inventory, and place orders as necessary.
  • Follows up on patient satisfaction surveys and customer service escalations as required.
  • Provide skilled physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with practice guidelines in assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of patients.
  • Ensures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs, instructing patients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment, and recommending follow-up programs.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, educating patients on their condition, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Complies with Colorado State Physical Therapy Act, codes, and regulations.
  • Documents daily and maintains clinical records regarding patient limitations, interventions, treatments, responses, and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
  • Supervises and directs Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Physical Therapy Technicians in direct patient care.
  • Approve and adjust time entries for payroll, to include vacation and sick time.
  • Assists in establishing and enforcing policies and procedures while holding staff accountable.
  • Establish and maintains a professional environment, providing a friendly atmosphere that engages all employees and champions a positive employee culture.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and dignity in a common workout environment.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, sanitized, and organized manner.
  • Follows all Infection Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Attends annual required company programs and trainings.
  • Attends all regular required department and company meetings.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Performs all other tasks and projects assigned.
Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Colorado State Physical Therapist license.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience as a Physical Therapist or comparable experience.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong ethical code of conduct.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive confidential information.
  • Proficiency with computers and EMR software.
  • Autonomous, positive mindset and team player.
  • Ability to remain motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Disciplined, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and staff in a professional capacity.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Major activities of this job include sitting, moving from place to place, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. Use of a computer, telephone, writing, and organizational skills. Manual dexterity for use of computer keyboard and calculator, mobility, and good vision (includes near acuity and depth perception). May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50-75 lbs. unassisted, occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more with assistance, including assisting patients when required. Requires ability to communicate effectively and have hearing within a normal range. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with a Physical Therapy Manager. The work environment is indoors in an office / medical clinic setting. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, moving equipment, and other conditions common to a medical clinic environment. Requires working under stress in emergency situations, meeting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and occasionally may involve irregular working hours.
