OVERVIEW

The Digital Media Specialist supports and enhances Grace’s communication strategies and digital ministry. S/he plays a key role in maintaining Grace’s online presence, creating engaging content for various communications channels, and leveraging digital platforms to effectively communicate the mission and vision of Grace Community Church.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and maintain Grace's social media content and calendars to ensure engaging and impactful messaging.
  • Monitor social media trends and engagement analytics to optimize content strategy.
  • Manage and update the church's website and app with information, stories, events, and multimedia content.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders gathering information and stories to develop engaging and relevant content for various communication channels, including social media, website, email, and newsletters.
  • Draft and schedule weekly email newsletters.
  • Create visually appealing graphics for both digital and print materials maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all communication platforms.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to implement an effective communication strategy that aligns with Grace's mission and vision.


COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree or previous experience in communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools and content creation software (Adobe Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom).
  • Proficiency in WordPress and CMS (knowledge of HTML & CSS are a plus)
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep commitment to the mission and values of Grace Community Church.


SCHEDULE

  • 1x Per Week – Meet with Communications Director
  • 2x Per Month– Attend WWE department meetings
  • 1x Per Week – Attend the weekly All Staff Meetings on Tuesday mornings
  • 1x Per Week – Attend the weekly All Staff Prayer Pause
  • 1x Per Year – Participate in the All-Staff Retreat, typically in June
  • Christmas Eve + Easter Sunday Gatherings
  • As Needed – Initiate / attend project specific meetings


RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Communications Director
  • Works Closely with Worship & Weekend team, ministry leaders, and serving team members
